| Top Design - Andrea | Andrea followed the arts and crafts guidelines and made a room out of stone and wood, draping a couple of walls with suede for texture. Kelly Wearstler said that she thought it was a room that she could hang out in "for a couple of hours," which was a compliment from her. When the word "luxury" came out of Margaret Russell's mouth, it was a dead giveaway that this room would win. |
| Voted Off - Michael | Jonathan Adler put it nicely when he said that "color wise, this was a bit of a departure." Amen. Kelly said that the choice of the carpet was like carpet one would find at an airport. The judges agreed that the room needed more functionality. Michael, of course, disagreed and said that he wasn't going to have napkin storage in his dining room. At this point, the Mystery Judge/Chef raised his eyebrows and it was over for Michael. |
| Carisa's Room | Carisa tried to make up for an unfinished room by saying she wanted to "keep things simple so the focus was on the table." Yeah, the judges didn't buy it either. They said that she suffered from "empty room syndrome." They complained that the table dominated the room and they hated the fabric on the chairs, and Jonathan said the fabric was "sad" and that the room was a "bummer." They were also unimpressed that she let the carpenter dominate her time and said they were tired of her drama. |
| Goil's Room | The judges agreed that Goil didn't pay attention to the challenge and missed the boat. They didn't like that Goil's room was missing luxury. Goil admitted to the cameras that he was having a hard time with the challenge and he stressed out again this episode. They admitted that they were tired of him thinking outside the box and that he needs to create a room that people would want to be in. |
| Matt's Room | Matt almost won this one. The extra hour he won last week allowed him more time to perfect his room. He said he was inspired by the challenge's provision of "nature." The mystery judge liked the leather floor concept. Jonathan Adler said that the room was impactive. Matt used place settings that looked like leaves, and the judges liked his choices. |

For once, the judges got this one right. And boy, am I glad to see the last of Michael. I am afraid for Goil, though. He does need to start thinking INSIDE the blank box they give him to decorate.
