Who won:
Team Tahiti! Yes, Michael, Andrea and Felicia escaped the wrath of the judges, even though they were knocked for not having a roof on their cabana. Other than that, the judges liked the Tahiti cabana the best.

Who got kicked off:
Elizabeth. She was in charge of choosing colors for her cabana, and the judges couldn't get past a lime green that she chose to represent Miami. She was trying to bring a new level of sophistication to her design and avoid doing a cliche color pallet for Miami. Well, the judges hated it.

Think Elizabeth should have gotten kicked off? Talk about it.

Bravo Top DesignWhat Elizabeth said about getting ousted? "I appreciate the opportunity, I just wish I didn't go out with ugly colors. [Bleep], what a statement."

Extreme Design Challenge:

Design and build a beach cabana. The designers were split into teams of three, and each team was given a postcard from a destination that was to influence their design. The three destinations were Miami, Tahiti and St. Tropez. There were three major jobs to be divided among the group; one member was to work with the carpenter, one member was to go to the fabric store, and one member was to go to Pier One and pick out furniture and accessories.

The team members and their tasks:

Miami:

Matt, fabric
Erik, furniture
Elizabeth, carpentry

Tahiti:

Michael , fabric
Felicia, furniture
Andrea, carpentry

St. Tropez:

Carisa, fabric
Ryan, furniture
Goil, carpentry

In the end, they were judged on overall design, originality, ingenuity, teamwork, and the ability to incorporate the destination's look into their design. The winners would receive a weekend getaway to the Viceroy hotel in Santa Monica. Erik could not be eliminated because he won immunity with last week's Top Design.

Catfights:
Bravo Top DesignRyan and Carisa. They fought over who should go to the fabric store and who should go to Pier One. They fought over the angle of the roof and the way that the fabric was to be draped. Ryan thought that Carisa's rooms are too conservative, and they should "amp [this room] up a bit." Goil's take on his teammates? "Ryan is not a team player. Carisa is not a team player."

This week's drama king/queen:Bravo Top Design
Carisa. She threw a little hissy fit because she had to work out in the sun and on the beach... Well, they did have to build a beach cabana.

Who painted themselves into a corner this week?

Most improved award:
Michael. He wanted to prove that he had taste, and the judges liked his choice of fabric for Tahiti.

Who do you think should have won?

I am from the Caribbean and beach it's not always bright colors. When you are out in the sun over and under you it's a good idea to use neutral colors to block off some light without absorbing to much heat. Their cavana was some "hideaway" from that excesive radiation without leaving the beach. It provided relaxation and some kind of privacy elegantly. Miami it's known for their Spanish and Caribbean influence and for the sand and beaches where people always seek to be to relax or have fun. So in my opinion colors were appropriate and distinctive of Miami.
