Who got kicked off
Who won:
Extreme Design Challenge:
The designers were given 5 decorative objects from a "mystery celebrity," and were set to the task of designing a room based on what they thought the mystery celebrity would want. They were given $50,000, two hours for furniture shopping, and two days to design a room.
Oh yeah, and they were supposed to work in teams. Needless to say, there were several instances where opinions differed, and in the case of Michael and John, there was absolute hatred.
This week's surprise:
The mystery celebrity judge? Alexis Arquette. She couldn't hide the smile when she sat on Elizabeth & Goil's swing. It was the only time she let her guard down while judging.
Cat fights:
John and Michael. They absolutely could not work together. John accused Michael of not working (he was right,) and Michael accused John of not letting him use any of his ideas. That is, of course, until the judges seemed interested in the room they designed and asked how much of Michael's ideas went into the project. Michael then replied that both of their ideas were equally represented. However, the judges quickly changed their minds about the room and Michael and John's butts were on the chopping block.
Heather and Lisa also disagreed as to what their room would look like. Because Lisa likes using cultural influences, she decided that the room should have an Asian theme, regardless of the information they were given about the "mystery celebrity's" personality. Heather went along and ended up being "pissed" at herself for being cooperative and not putting her foot down.
This week's drama king/queen:

Oh, do you even have to ask?
Who painted themselves into a corner this week (ie, will get kicked off next week?)
Michael. But not literally because, according to his own admission, he doesn't know how to paint.
Carisa and Erik are also in the running to get kicked off. They look confused here because they are confused. The judges bashed their room more than they bashed Michael and John's room, even thought Carisa and Erik didn't end up on the chopping block.

Who do you think should have won?
Goil and Elizabeth definitely got high marks for creativity, but there were a few designers that gave them a run for their money. Give the discussion some love.
| Do they look scared? They should. It was between the teams of Michael & John, and Heather and Lisa; Heather and Lisa were booted. (You didn't think they'd get rid of the drama between John and Michael this early, did you?) See the trainwreck of their design. |
Who won:
| Elizabeth and Goil. They were a creative match made in heaven with their very zen design. |

... or did anyone else go "huh?" when Alexis Arquette was introduced? Who is she? I'm guessing she's related to Patricia, but beyond that I'm not sure!

John came across as a bit of a homophobe in this episode. I was surprised when John and Michael's design did not get the axe, but on second thought, both have big potential for drama and conflict (not just with each other) later on, and I'm sure that was weighed in their favor.
