Who got kicked off:
Time to go, Michael. What lead to your elimination? Hmmmm.... Purposefully mismatching chairs. Using a rug that didn't match itself, let alone anything else in the room. Our favorite was your reason for using red: "I was attracted to the color red because psychologically it’s a color that makes you hungry and it makes food taste better when you look at it." Apparently, it also gets you kicked off a Design show.
Who Won:
Look at her. Diligently hand-making a stone wall. Andrea rocked the judges who had nary a negative word about her room. They loved her room, and she landed the Top Design and a $2,500 gift certificate to Jonathan Adler's store.
Extreme Design Challenge:
With a budget of $42,000, the designers were to create a private dining experience around the chef's head table. This chef turned out to be Head Judge Tom Colicchio from Top Chef. All they knew was that this mystery chef, who would also be a mystery judge, preferred modern cuisine with natural ingredients. They knew that the chef's style was eclectic, and that the chef preferred handmade arts and crafts with a mid-twentieth century aesthetic. They had two days to complete the tasks. Surprises
The judges asked each contestant to pick one competitor's room that they would not like to dine in.
Which one ratted out who?
Matt: Wouldn't eat in Goil's room.
Andrea: Wouldn't eat in Carisa's room.
Goil: Wouldn't eat in Carisa's room.
Carisa: Wouldn't eat in Goil's room.
Michael: Wouldn't answer the question.
What??? Michael takes the high road? Even though it was a nice thing to do, the judges hated it, with Kelly saying that he should be able to criticize his fellow competitors.
Cat-fights:
Carisa and her carpenter. She was mad about his need for perfection and it slowed her down so much that she didn't finish her room. She stated that Carl didn't have the slightest desire to listen to her:
"It’s not the Carl show. It’s not 'Top Carl'. It's 'Top Design'. I’m the designer."
